Fish Tacos with Lime-Cilantro Crema

Fish Tacos with Lime-Cilantro Crema | The Full-time Foodie

Happy Friday everyone!!!  I have to say that I’m looking forward to my weekends more now that summer is ACTUALLY here.  Perhaps it’s not here to stay just yet but I’m going to enjoy the 80 degree weather this weekend, thank you very much!   I’m also excited to be in DC this weekend since I’ve been traveling literally every weekend- though all of my travels were for fun and I got to see a lot of friends and family I haven’t seen in ages, so I’m very thankful for that Pardon the posting of so many seafood dishes of late!  Traveling on weekends definitely makes it harder for me to meal prep and cook during the week.  I’m usually pretty tired to grocery shop after a trip.  Sometimes even with groceries at home, I’m too tired to make anything because I’m still reeling from the flying and the break from my routine.  So the recipe I’m sharing today is actually quite awesome for those weeks where I want to put the least amount of effort without compromising the quality of and …

Shrimp Fideuà

Shrimp Fideuà | The Full-time Foodie

Hello hello!  I’m happy to report that my batteries are completely recharged and I’m back feeling quite excited to cook again.  Not that I wasn’t cooking before, but I was struggling on the “what do I share on the blog!?!” front!  Sometimes I forget that the blog isn’t meant to be a stressful thing I HAVE to keep up with.  I just love cooking and trying new recipes out. The blog was created as a way for me to chronicle the recipes I enjoy and the photos are just an excuse for me to keep exercising my photography muscle.  Note to self- post only when inspired So I came back this week with renewed interest and new ideas! I also came back with a new resolve- to make practical choices with food.  Not that I was so impractical with food before, but sometimes I found myself wanting to make insanely complicated things that took way too much time and with ingredients I had a hard time finding use for again.  This just meant that I need to plan my meals better, budget better and find recipes that are …

Spiced Cornmeal Crusted Fish Sticks

Spicy Cornmeal Crusted Fish Sticks | The Full-time Foodie

Happy Wednesday everyone!  So I have to be honest, I have legitimately struggled with recipes over the past week.  I’m super particular about not sharing recipes that didn’t end in perfection so there might be some longer pauses between my posts until I either perfect them or move on to a different recipe!  There were some fails occurring in the kitchen, but I still have hope that some of them might turn out to be amazing if I keep working on them Today’s recipe was inspired by… I’m not even sure.  I want to say I was craving fish sticks or perhaps saw a picture of fish sticks somewhere and a light bulb went off?  I normally like to steam, bake or broil fish and almost never use breading.  But boy do I love a good fish fry every so often.  The kind of fish fry my mom makes is especially delicious! She makes her own fry masala and the fish turns out to be so amazingly crispy and flavorful.  I definitely plan on sharing her recipe in …

Tamarind Coconut Chicken Curry

Tamarind Coconut Chicken Curry || The Full-time Foodie

You know you’re still new to this whole blogging thing when you hit “Publish” accidentally and send your subscribers an incomplete blog post.  Apologies for those who got lured into thinking there was a new recipe yesterday!  But perhaps on some very small level you were excited about this post? A little? Anyhoo, let’s talk about onions today! When it comes to onions, I have mostly found two types of people exist in this world: those who really really LOVE onions to the point where they must have them with every meal and those who LOATHE onions with every fiber of their being.  I used to be in the “loathe” category for most of my life.  This probably wouldn’t have been a big issue if onions weren’t so integral to Indian cooking.  So when I first started my cooking adventures a few years ago, I decided that I would try my hand at recipes with onions and hope for the best. I don’t know if this holds true for everyone, but I find that when you start cooking your own food, your taste buds …

Mustard Glazed Lamb Rack

Mustard Glazed Lamb Rack | The Full-time Foodie

A word of caution: Today’s post may not be suitable for those who cringe at the sight of meat or those who have drooling tendencies from reading about delectable lamb dishes- extreme salivating has been a reported symptom of posts like this one.  You have been warned! Sorry I couldn’t resist the intro!  Lamb is one of those meats that is kind of a treat in our household i.e. we probably have lamb once a month or even less than that.   It’s mostly because I’m cautious about how much red meat I eat and honestly it’s more enjoyable that way because it’s something we save for the occasional splurge.  I don’t know why but when I eat lamb- I feel fancy.  I’m serious!  Doesn’t a plate of lamb chops or lamb lollipops just scream “fancy” to you?  I would feel guilty eating lamb chops on the couch by our coffee table like a slob a.k.a. a regular dinner night at the Mehtas.  If we have lamb I make sure we sit at the dining table, get the nice …
